wanted to start a thread for people to share their "pocket wisdoms." short phrases, sentences, or sayings that have a message or meaning behind them.

a few of mine I keep in a journal in my pocket are:

1."some people are so heavenly minded, they are no earthly good."

2."never contribute to malice what can be contributed to ignorance"

3."let us live so much in life that when we die even the reaper is sorry"

please add to this thread any pocket wisdoms you might know :)

"It's a dangerous thing to mistake speaking without thought for speaking the truth." from Glass Onion is like a phrase I say about "mistaking cynicism for wisdom". They share the same criticism about superficiality and reflexive responses, but I think the one from the movie is a better generalization as it gets more to the source of the problem while mine is more situational.
