Hello everyone.

A bit of background... I started out in the early 2000's basicaly just reading, and later on doing some very minor things. Among the things i experienced and did there was always something that stood out, and bothered me a bit... As i meditated i sort of ended in "the same place".

I would start my meditation, and regardless of place, hour or day, always the same. I would end up for a lack of better way to explain it, staring at the surface of water. It was always the same, i felt i was paralel to the surface, a few inches away, and i could tell among the darkness the surface of the water.

And that was it... just me "staring" at water.

What could be the reason and/or meaning behind that?

Any input and ideas welcome.

Thank you!

I would say, it's an invitation of your deep soul: "Come and dive into the deep waters of your inner being!" Water is not only a symbol of your soul, but also of your feelings. So I would try to dive into the water with the intention to dive into your feelings and the profound knowledge they can provide for you. Maybe - not necessarily - this means an experience with not so many visual impressions. I would just try to feel very intensely, other sensual impressions and understanding will follow later on.

Interesting. Thank you for your kind reply. It makes sense. As i recal, even sorrounded by darkness, and the water itself being dark, I never felt uneasy, insecure or experienced any sort of fear. Something to "meditate" on, for sure.

In the phases of meditation the head moves to facilitate energy flows. If the focus is on:

  • the solar plexus and/or sacral chakra, the head drops forward
  • the third eye (middle of forehead) the head will often tilt up as far as it can go so that the vertical energy flow into the forehead is straight in
  • the flow into the spine, the spine will straighten and elongate with the head straight
