Hi there!

I just came to another question, which is somewhat related to meditation, but also is much broader than just meditation.
I have heard people talk about different types of "energies." And given I am still brand-new, I am lowkey curious as to what those energies are, what role those energies play in the world of occultism, ando they play different roles in different sub-fields?

Basically, I am trying to get some sort of grasp on this energy-concept in the occult setting. What I am sensing so far, is that these types of energies tend to be different from regular types of energies as observed in STEM-like scientific fields such as physics, with types as energy such as kinetic energy, thermal energy, nuclear energy, etc; but I still am not sure what really is going on under the hood, so to say.

As usual,
have a splendid night

Hi there!

what role those energies play in the world of occultism, and do they play different roles in different sub-fields?

Basically, I am trying to get some sort of grasp on this energy-concept in the occult setting.

"Occult energy" that has the capacity to influence and change reality, meaning "Nature" proper, must be independent of Nature. Must pre-date physical reality. Hence "Super-Natural," meaning supra-natural, above and beyond nature.

In Western Occultism and esoterica, the ancient Stoics once believed that Pneuma was a force that pre-dated matter which organizes matter.

In Eastern occultism and esoteric philosophy, the Taoists believed in two types or two categories of energy. The first is called "Pre-Heaven" Energy. The Second is called Post-Heaven energy. Pre-Heaven energy is a kind of energy or force that existed before the existence of the Heavens, meaning the physical universe/cosmos. Post-Heaven energy is the type of energies that came into existence after the universe/cosmos manifested. The types of energies you listed, such as Kinetic, Thermal, Nuclear, etc, are all denominated as Post-Heaven energy. Chi is Pre-Heaven energy. Chi is also called "Heart Energy."

The supra-natural pre-heaven energy, whatever we may call such, in our respective languages and cultures, is the same, and is the Divine Force that condensates, forms, and organizes matter. Being such, that force can influence, alter, and change reality, because reality is a derivative of that supra-natural pre-heaven energy.

Magic, in any human culture, is the cultivation and manipulation of that supra-natural pre-heaven energy as a means to manifest desired/willed end results. Certain things, universally found in any human culture, such as chants, invocations, rituals, folk gods, etc, are "tools" and mechanisms that are used to manipulate that occult energy.

The ancient Greeks once had methods to cultivate Pneuma, like how the Taoists have methods of cultivating Chi. Many cultures lacked methods of cultivating that energy, and so life-force was a substitute energy. Hence why many ancient cultures in Africa, Asia, Europe, and the Americas performed animal and human sacrifices.

Esoteric philosophy tries to come to an ultimate understanding of what the origins of that supra-natural pre-heaven energy is, where did it come from? How did it form and organize physical matter? Why is it responsive and reactive to the Mind and Will?
