He wasn't the only magician around at the time , see ; Simon (the ) Magus Vs St. Peter
Old hat. Of course he wasn't. But... if you're baffled by the B$ that you're exposed to by parents, the church and society at large you could be forgiven for not being able to "See" that! Until you are able to "think for yourself", you're basically in someone else's "good graces"! Not an enviable place to be, but to each their own! ;)

Oh yeah, Jesus is also the "most prominent" of the genre. Lots of them in the PGM, as well as prior to and after.

Yep, him too! If folks want to pursue All the others prior to, contemporary with, and after Jesus, please start another thread. I wanted to keep this thread about "Jesus", because of his "central" place in a Large branch of the "Abrahamic" family tree! And, perhaps start some critical thinking in the process about "Jesus"!

I've attempted to show that there is evidence that Jesus was a "sorcerer", and how this may well have been "engineered" out of the plan to use him as the central figure in a new state "religion". The thread has achieved "some measure" of what I wanted it to, it's caused some folks to "think critically". That's a good start! ;)
