OP asked a very broad question. You have a lot of different types of dangers and therefore corresponding protections to think about. In terms of books, I would recommend the following to start off with:
1. Protection and Reversal Magick - Jason Miller
2. Magickal Protection - Damon Brand
These 2 books provide basic and comprehensives sets of protection for both spiritual and mundane dangers. The book by Jason Miller covers the side of spiritual protection much more and it is a strategy guide to how to set up different kinds of occult protections against different types of spiritual dangers (e.g. curses, entities, baneful magick). This includes the spells, materials, herbs, etc that you need in order to provide protection against various classes of spirits. Damon Brand's book is much more suited for mundane protections, but it also does provide some rituals against entities and curses. Both together will provide the baseline of what you need for the protections that were requested.
In very particular terms, you probably want to establish some sort of daily practice that includes a protection ritual layered into it. For most people, this would be a banishing ritual such as the LBRP or the Sword Banishing from the Damon Brand book. Both of these can serve a protective purpose and can temporarily protect against general misfortune or spiritual dangers. But both of these can also be somewhat lightweight and are both based on Kabbalistic influences, using angels and names of the Hebrew god to enforce the protection. Sometimes they may not work well with certain classes of spirits. The banishing ritual from the Jason Miller book is based on Hekate and is something that supposedly provides more raw power compared to the other 2. I have not tried it, but it is supposed to remove both good and bad spiritual influences.
You might also consider a ritual that brings "invisibility" to you. By invisibility, I mean it in an astral sense which makes you less noticeable to people and entities. It can be quite helpful to hide yourself from influences or presences that you consider a threat. Again, these 2 books contain rituals for enforcing astral invisibility on yourself and your aura. There is also a Golden Dawn based ritual called the Rose Cross Ritual, which also performs the same function. Either way, many of these ritual focus on the idea of encasing yourself in a dense astral sphere of "something" that hides your presence. You may consider using that imagery to compose your own ritual if you so choose. But again, astral invisibility is a powerful protective measure.
Another defensive measure that you might consider is objects or a talisman / amulet that can provide protection in your home or on your person. A well known set of talismans that can do this are the Solomonic planetary pentacles from the Key of Solomon (e.g. Mather's edition) and one of the Mars pentacles provides a powerful protection for you. Another example is an iron source like pyrite ("fool's gold") or grave nails are supposed to be powerful protective materials, especially against spirits of the fae. Either way, the idea is to keep an object with protective properties on you or in a place you live in so that you can be protected spatially from threats. It is like being in a castle / fortress.
Finally, I want to leave a note on spiritual protection in general that I don't think is very well touched upon. It is best to align your protection with the threat that you are up against, if you can. For example, if you know that someone is cursing you using magick sourced from Jinn / Djinn, then your defence is best derived from Islamic or Arabic magick designed to protect against Jinn such as Duas. Or if you are dealing with someone who is using baneful magick derived from African Traditional Religions (ATRs), then using the LBRP or Kabbalistic protection may do very little to help, you would need to go to a specialised practitioner in that art to help you. This is a tough one because you are not always sure what you would be dealing with, but I would say the majority of spiritual protection is directed against mundane affairs and the negative energies of others (e.g. envy, anger, hate, the "evil eye"). For these general issues, any general spiritual protection will work. I would say it is exceedingly rare for most people to be dealing with occult danger from someone who is specialised in a particular form of baneful magick. You would only be dealing with such things if you somehow managed to piss of an occultist.
Anyway, these books I mentioned will give you 95% of the protection you need. If you ever feel the need for more protection, then my advice is to either buy books that specialise in protective practices of a specific spiritual belief system or to find someone who is a specialist in those beliefs to learn from them. Also remember to practice your baseline magical skills (e.g. concentration, energy work, meditation, etc) as these will feed into the power of your own protective measures.
