Gluing Masamune back together is off the table. Turns out it wasn't ungluing, the metal of the blade started to give up where it was meeting the handle. The stainless steel in the handle was just very thin stick.. Now the sword is broken, but I keep it for now. Thing is like Andúril now, waiting to be reforged in some unknown time. Lol! 70 € loss is no tragedy. It makes me little sad, but more because I liked the blade (and because I was apparently little stupid) than because of the money.

Also interesting detail, the golden part between knife and tsuba went missing after the blade broke. It fell of the blade when I was packing it and after it fell into the grass, it was gone. I searched the lace like twenty times, but it's gone. Guess that faeries wanted it, so when it was clear I won't get it back, I gifted it to the spirits.

I guess that I'll have to buy a blade really meant for some practice. I'm lurking around one offer for 210€, have to check it more carefully. What can I say? The life is about making mistakes and learning from them.
Ah yes, the habaki. The heart of the sword according to some. No wonder the faeries coveted it. Or perhaps it's in a magpie's hoard now, which amounts to the same thing.

I did wonder if it was some kind of stick tang. Only option there is welding, but it would always be a weak spot. The blade and the tang of a sword really should all be ciut of forged from the same piece of metal because there are so many stresses at the point.

Heart of the blade? Wow. That makes a lot of sense. The blade felt awesome and kind of alive when I was cleaning it. Well, I guess it has what it wanted.

Must say that it is interesting to have actual tale of a blade that happened to me.

You will have to find an elven smith to forge it anew. One day, when the stars are right!
