I had this going through my mind while reading something yesterday thinking of examples to do with culture and archetypes. Today outside Forbidden Planet in Nottingham a bare footed tramp introduced himself as Irish-Catholic and glancing at my t-shirt enthused I should 'keep playing the guitar and listen to the marvellous band Wunderhorse.'
He took the trouble to spell it out 'that's wonder with a u' before accepting my pound coin and telling me I was great and he loved me. My t-shirt holds no clue I play guitar as it says 'Wales' and has a dragon.

It was recently my birthday and my long suffering spouse had decided to buy me a present of Rhonda McCrimmon The Celtic Wheel Of The Year. and all these years and still I didn't realise that the four major phases of the lunar month (and its interim points) are supposed to match the four major turning points of the solar year and seasons (and_its interim points). It is one of those ' well it's pretty obvious but you need someone to point it out properly moments'. As I understand it Winters dark is representing the darkness and uncertainty of the New Moon, Spring begins the first bulging quarter, while Summers shimmerings glare becomes the brightest full moon and Fall's sad delights are the last quarter before a return of the heavy curtain of the new moon once more. Who'd have thunk it.
