Theoretical philosophy, the implications of the Theophagy of hyper-violent muppets.

Bear with me on this one. This post is stupid, but I am being sincere with it.

There is a game called eat god. Eat god follows warrior poet reality warping Muppets who, as is obvious, want to eat god. Part of eat god is a set of genuinely intricate, varied, and well thought out theophagy's that your Muppet might hold. Eating god is a vague and nebulous thing.

I find this concept quite interesting, on like, a conceptual level. God eaters aren't the only kind of Muppet in the world, its a subset of a broader folk, so what kind of philosophies would lead to people developing theophagy's. If this is the esoteric version of a muppet philosophy what does a normal phillosophy look like.

In a world of Fantasy, Scifi, dreamscapes, realms of meat, and so on and so forth, how would a philosohy like this actually develop? What kind of philosophys would develop, if you were a muppet, and learning to warp reality was just as much of an option as being a cook. Assuming the fantastical world is has a base human belief in god how does that shift over time when theres muppet who's sole purpose in life is take all your god , shove it in their mouth, and then leave? What happens when that actually causes a change in how like, physics works because magic and stuff.

I have no idea, and it fascinates me. Id love to hear if this is interesting to anybody else.

Are we all just muppets on the cosmic stage trying to eat our way to a better reality?

Is this about Catholicism ?
maybe? Idk, what if Jesus didn't consent to getting stabbed but we did it anyways because "Fuck if I'm suffering the consequences of all my sins" and we kept eating his body because the bread was just that good.

I was trying to discuss the conceptual concept of a theophagy, the gnostic take on god, that ends with "and so, I personally am going to find him, and bite him really hard" as like, the baseline assumption of a odd fictional school of philosophy.

Catholicism seems to be a bit past that point I'm afraid. Eating God was his own idea all along, it seems to turn out.

Isn't this an Iron Maiden lyric?

Yup, it's from Can I Play with Muppets?

But, of course, (as I'm sure you well know) the original quote is from Nietzsche's Parable of the Muppet:

Have you not heard of that muppet who lit a lantern in the bright morning hours, ran to the market place, and cried incessantly: "I seek God! I seek God!"---As many of those who did not believe in God were standing around just then, he provoked much laughter. Statler and Waldorf heaped scorn upon him from the balcony of their high ivory tower.

The muppet jumped into their midst and pierced them with his eyes. "Whither is God?" he cried; "I will tell you. We have killed him---you and I. All of us are his murderers. But how did we do this? How could we drink up the sea? Who gave us the sponge to wipe away the entire horizon? Do we smell nothing as yet of the divine decomposition? Gods, too, decompose. God is dead. God remains dead. And we have killed him.

"How shall we comfort ourselves, the murderers of all murderers? What was holiest and mightiest of all that the world has yet owned has bled to death under our knives and forks: who will wipe this blood off us? What water is there for us to clean ourselves? What napkin big enough to wipe our bloody lips? Must we ourselves not become gods simply to appear worthy of it? Are we all just muppets on the cosmic stage trying to eat our way to a better reality? There has never been a greater deed; and whoever is born after us---for the sake of this deed he will belong to a higher history than all history hitherto."

Here the muppet fell silent and looked again at his listeners; and they, too, were silent and stared at him in astonishment. At last he threw his lantern on the ground, and it broke into pieces and went out. "I have come too early," he said then; "my time is not yet. The Swedish Chef has still to prepare the main course."

Interesting post but definitely not stupid and I see some strands from the Indian philosophy of Advaita Vedanta.

A recent symposium happened in San-Francisco where some arrogant people (not all) want to play God and invited experts from different fields to discuss on the way forward for AI headed by the company that created the most dangerous AI in the market called Claude the company invested a lot of money to destroy the very old literature and books produced by mankind by feeding them into Claude and then shredding the original rare books.

Not a rant because there was a monk representing this Advaita Vedanta philosophy in that conference and Indians' books of life, religion, everything called Vedas have certain verses where the Ultimate Reality which Indians call Brahman or Atman which is consciousness to rest of the people who believe in this philosophy creates worlds and destroys worlds like it is nothing. It is not attached to its creation at all, everything is a play or sport to this unnameable and unspeakable Ultimate Reality.

So, this Ultimate Reality is not attached to any of its creation no matter how beautiful it is or how monstrous it is, we feel sad over little things but imagine a galaxy getting wiped out in a second or this beautiful planet still it wouldn't make a difference to that Ultimate Reality.

So, all the gods or deities will also be subject to the same fate or death.

The way I see it is the muppet trying to make sense of the reality and then eating up a belief system/god after realising it isn't very powerful because the muppet figured out it was just a created god who can be destroyed.

It is quite interesting to see the development of events - on one side we have silicon valley people trying very hard to fail in making AI conscious while people are coming up with interesting and never before seen games to create interest in people to think and get started on the studies of consciousness.

wasn't there like a rabbi in this confrence who went

"Ynow, if this thing is sentient, like you say it is, that would make you guys a slaver. Good thing you that it isn't concience."

or something like that?

Eat God looks like a good way to introduce applied philosophical thinking through paradigm shifting play.
