Hello guys, this post may seem a little scattered so I apologize. I am looking for the most streamlined advice.

I recently got into Tarot a few months ago as a way to deepen my spirituality and self reflection, and honestly as a hobby. I've really embraced it and connected with it, and naturally with exploration through symbolism, recently getting into Thoth after learning the RW system, etc, it has led me down the path of being interested in witchcraft.

Initially, I got books on Wicca from the library and soon realized that is not what I was connecting with. Then, I was looking into various spellbooks but I don't really resonate with the herb magic/ingredient heavy/fairytale type vibe I was getting from those.

My journey has led me to learn about sigils and chaos magick, which the concept of both immediately resonated with me. I have a sigil tattooed on my hand I designed last year, before I even knew what a sigil was! (It's a symbol I designed combining the symbols of mercury, phosphorous, antimony, arsenic, and sulfur).

Glamour magick and candle magick also resonate with me, and I've self designed a ritual that I am going to do with a protection sigil and some candles I have - I have an altar with crystals I've collected and various other things.

I'm a very practical and pragmatic person, and a lot of the readings I have found on chaos magick/sigils aren't really as straight forward for me.

Basically I am looking for recommendations on chaos magick/glamour magick books that will give me a direct, clear idea on how to best navigate and learn about these practices? I did just read and finish Sigil Witchery by Laura Tempest Zakroff and loved it. I have PDFs for Condensed Chaos, Advanced Magick for Beginners, Six Ways by Aidan Wachter, but I was wondering (based on the scattered info I've shared) what other books/occultists/practices may resonate with me, that I am able to understand?I find a lot of the stuff I read to be lofty and hard to pin down in my mind.

Excerpt from Can Energy Healing Be Stored In Physical Materials and Does It Work
Lori Chortkoff Hops, PhD, DCEP • March 26, 2025

Healing Information Stored in Physical Materials?

Can healing information be placed in objects? Biologist Grad and his healers could do just that. They stored healing intention in water, crystals, and cotton. Bengston used both water and cotton, and asked healers to “charge” the materials with Bengston Method information. When the materials were held while cycling, they were altered. People attuned to subtle energies, or “sensitives” claimed to register a difference in the materials after a charging session. But could the charged materials affect change in the real world?

In fact, once an item is charged with Bengston Method information, it holds that charge. The information for healing is released from the object when it is in the presence of something that needs healing. This happens even when the healer is not present. The charged object transfers information to the one in need, and a healing occurs. The implications from these findings are three-fold. First, items can be charged with information and stored. Second, the charged item can be used for healing later. Third, the healer who charged the object does not need to be present for the transfer to happen. Healing, therefore, can happen at a distance. Perplexing, yet true. Questions remain. Is this the placebo effect at work and can non-healers charge materials?

______________________________________________________ End Excerpt __________

So, should we extrapolate this and apply it to checking talismans or amulets?

If we can do this good healing energy, does it work for other things, including the bad?

There are many other healing claims to be tested using this method, such as fast-growing cancers, gastrointestinal diseases, asthma, cysts, allergies, Alzheimer’s disease, some neurological conditions, emotional/mental conditions, and more.

And yes, it can also be recorded, with slightly reduced effects, but the playback of it also heals.

So, if you like the science and fact aspect, they are getting closer to understanding the most important aspect of sigils, talismans, amulets and other charged objects, which is; HOW TO ACTUALLY CHARGE AND STORE REAL ENERGY. There is a purpose to it, and if it only ends up working for healing, well that is great.

And, do the symbols actually help or guide this energy? Do colors help? Do specific materials work better than others?
There is so much work to do here.
