This seems like the easiest method for inducing lucid dreams but I find myself in somewhat of a predicament with it. A lot of the time I try it 2 things happen. I either hit snooze on my alarm clock and go back to sleep, or I do indeed wake up for 20-30 minutes then go back to bed, but when I try go back to sleep, I find myself irreversibly awake... The handful of occasions where neither of those things happened, as in I woke up for 30 minutes then went back to sleep shortly after, I did induce lucidity. I would say of the 10ish times I tried and successfully woke then slept since January, at least 5 of those gave me lucidity. So I do trust the method.

The problem is like I described, I've tried this method a lot more than 10 times and often I either stay asleep or can't get back to sleep... Any tips? I don't use any electronics when I wake up. Or do you just have to take the fails on the chin? It's not very practical when I can't get back to sleep, as it often means I only get 5 hours of sleep which on any day of the week is far from optimal for me.

The actual dream experience occurs regardless of whether you have a brain recording.

Many such dreams appear to be data transfers from parallel timelines. If the data transfer is important, your higher self will ensure that it occurs sooner or later

Perhaps sufficient sleep is more important

Keep on keeping on is the only advice I have since I don't know how to LD or AP.
Indeed... though I did read a small dose of melatonin, like 0.3g, will help in getting you back to sleep without interfering with your sleep cycles (namely REM) so I might try that. But honestly the bigger enemy is simply ignoring my alarm clock and going straight back to sleep!

Trust me I get sufficient sleep... These days I've been sleeping 10 hours a night on average! I'm not really sure what they key is, as I remember there was a point last year when I wasn't actively pursuing lucid dreams and astral projections yet had multiple interesting experiences in the dream world including super vivid dreams, lucidity and what I believe was a small OBE. Now that I'm pursuing those goals they seem ever more elusive!

Now, take pieces of paper and write on them 'Wake up/you're asleep’ (Whatever works for you best). Place them in random places around your house: drawers, closets, pockets, wallet, places where you'd normally be surprised to find them, the more the better. Meditate during the day, just around 10/15 minutes, and during the day, also set the intention that you'll have a lucid dream couple of times.

In bed, before sleeping, visualize along with a sensation what happens when you're dreaming; let your imagination run free here. Take the sensation, give it a color, turn it into a chi ball inside your body, breathe it in, and make it bigger and bigger with every exhale, until it covers the room, house, neighborhood, ad infinitum; do it in trance if you can. As you're expanding the ball and following it, and seeing everything (if you reached the galaxy for example see the plantes around you, earth under you or whatever), enjoy the process and whenever you feel its the moment, come back, and create an echo using the same phrase as before while you’re doing it, louder, clearer, and stronger, with every breath you take, and every beat of your heart, louder and clearer, stronger and profound, in you, within you, in every cell, every atom, every ethereal body, till you come back to your bed

Then let it go. I had my first one this way in about 72 hours the first time; I've added some things to make it more potent.
