Not vague shit like "being spiritual" or "being social"... be specific!

For me, my hobbies vary wildly over time, but some of my current ones are:
  • Various technophile shit, like for years now I have been pretty interested in mechanical keyboards. Building them, upgrading them etc
  • Collecting fragrances (I think I have close to 100 now)
  • Watching sci-fi TV shows
  • Cooking

I have far too many hobbies lol-- here's a few off the top of my head:
  • reading (fantasy, usually, though I love a good sci-fi novel)
  • drawing (though that's quickly moving into "career" territory...)
  • weaving
  • crocheting
  • bookbinding
  • figure skating
  • roller skating
  • playing guitar
  • playing viola
  • playing guzheng
  • playing ocarina
  • baking
  • aerial hoop (a type of acrobatics)
  • conlanging
  • worldbuiding
  • writing
And I'd really like to get into traditional Asian calligraphy, alongside stained glass making.

Cooking
Calisthenics
Playing violin/guitar
Reading (does that even count as a hobby?)
Collecting/painting miniatures
Language learning

If I had more time I'd absolutely love to get into drawing. I hate being so limited in what I can draw. But alas between work and life chores I barely have enough time to engage in the hobbies I do have + occultism...

Reading - mostly magical research and sci-fi. I recommend a sci-fi author called qntm.
Writing - working on two novels atm 'The Path of Louie Mackas' which is occult in nature, and 'Susie Seven-Souls' which is sci-fi/comedy
Musician - working on That Difficult Second Album, and ought to start rehearsing soon for the mini tour I'm on in September/October with my mate Simon.
Video Games - far too much of this. 'City of Heroes' and 'Diablo IV' at the moment.

Also putting a talk together about my research for Worldcon in Glasgow, in the hope that I am one of the successful picks.

How do you even balance your time between all of them? 😱

Wow, now that’s something I’ve never heard of before. Literally had to google it.

I also love making (and drinking especially) cocktails
Amen!

I went though an archery phase, bought a recurve boy and got pretty decent at aiming up to like, 20-30m I think?

Now I don’t have enough space for it 😭

Oh that reminds me, another one of my hobbies is digital glitch and generative (code based) art. Been ages since I’ve done a piece though.

How much do I have to pay you to wear a wizardforums T-shirt while giving your talk?

What are some of your favorite fragrances? My go to scent is TF's Oud Wood...I have nowhere near 100 but I like to try different ones through Luckyscent's samples. You have to pay for them but you can try pretty rare fragrances.

I wanna learn this one too, I want to be able to customize the books I already own or make new ones.

Archery. I have an ILF bow for traditional-style archery.
Archery is on my list to do once I get the money for the materials.

Typing. I have a c.1958 Smith-Corona Silent Super which feels absolutely marvelous to type on.

40k?

:ROFLMAO:

Reading technical and non technical books
Let me guess, specially if they're books of stuff you know you won't really get to deal with, but the appeal of knowing about them is too big to ignore?

I was a unix administrator for ten years, and I like to learn. Your issue is with you and not me.

I played Guitar for 20+ years but gave that up a few years back due to injuries.

But I still like to play video games from my youth like the 8-bit and 16-bit Nintendo and Sega stuff… oh and Atari 2600 stuff.

I also collect Baseball cards of my favorite player when I was a kid … ‘The Kid’ Ken Griffey Jr.

Though I also collect cards of some other players from my team ‘Atlanta Braves’ and other popular 80’s and 90’s guys.

Oh and I collect Michael Jordan cards too from the NBA.

Let’s see plus I collect and read Comic books from when I was a kid. Mostly Marvel stuff like Spidey and the X-Men. But I do collect some Batman stuff too.

I think that’s it. I mostly just love all the same stuff I did when I was like 8-13 years old…lol

Well, I got some non-occult hobbies. Some of them are:

  • Creating music (electronically mostly)
  • Reading
  • Playing memory games
  • Doing psychology tests and reading about the Human psychology
  • Chemistry, mostly learning it as practicing is limited due to lack of equipment and resources
  • IT (I love IT a lot), from learning about hardware (hard drives, USBs, you name it) to programs that are made in Python, C++, Ruby and various other programming languages (I should probably start posting some things in the Technology forum we have here)
  • Painting
  • Poetry

Jeez, this question really shines a light on how little I have going on besides my practices. 😅
Initiation runs my life, and between working full-time and engaging with my entourage of daily practices, I don't really do much else...

Most of my little bits of "free time" where I'm not doing either of those things is usually just spent brooding quietly, killing time until whatever next exercise is in line on the schedule, but even that is practically a passive form of meditation in itself...

The transition to working full-time really killed my recreational side.
Before that though, I was a devout musician. Mostly as an organist and cellist, but in my teenage years when I was part of my HS orchestra I could basically play every stringed instrument under the roof, big and small.

Still, I maintained my passion for the Organ well beyond into these recent years, at least until I started punching the clock all the time.
Now it's something I only play once in a blue moon.

I also used to be a serious martial artist, combining elements of Wing Chung, Aikido, and Tae Kwon Do in unarmed combat while also taking up practice with the Sabre (Polish style) and the Whip (as a weapon, not a sport-cracker). But of course, that has become another victim of my rat-race job swallowing up time.

The only recreational activity I maintain much these days is some PC gaming. Not a ton, but if I find myself with some extra unplanned time on my hands.

Oh and smoking.... I smoke pipe tobacco like a chimney 😂

Sigh.... all I dream about anymore is somehow being unemployed but still being able to pay my bills. 😂
Fuck "the grind", I want out - don't have time for shit anymore.
