Strange. I'm not sure what's going on there, but my first thought is to trust the process. The fact that anything is happening at all probably means that it is working on you, doing what it needs to.

About a month after I began my serious Qigong practice, I went through a period in which I would feel incredibly cold for hours after my practice sessions. It was summer and I would sit in the sun and still feel cold to the bone. I never really understood what was happening, but this phase passed after a while and at the same time this burning feeling in my ears that I used to get quite a lot went away and never came back.

But then again, maybe you're doing it wrong and need to find a different way to relate to your energy body. Are you tense when you're practicing?

I actually feel so relaxed and get goosebumps when am doing the ritual and after the circulation of light, I get sooo dizzy

I used to feel sleepy after doing the LBRP. If something is happening, it is working. Keep up the good work!

I feel refreshed afterwards usually but I also started doing it the way Scott Stenwick suggests and have found it to be much more effective this way. His version is just that you say Adonai Melekh at the feet instead of Adonai Haretz.

I also read some post somewhere that says that the standard GD version is actually incomplete. The full version is supposed to map the entire tree of life onto the body but I have yet to find more info on this subject. I believe Poke Runyon's book Beyond the Middle Pillar might have something to say about this.

Map the entire tree of life onto the body:

Well, yes, but you still do just the middle pillar; hence why the exercise is called the Middle Pillar Ritual.

But it does start with visualizing the black pillar on your right side and the white pillar on your left side (as if standing with your back turned to the Tree of Life).

Nothing for me. I always felt very little if anything using this ritual, as with the cases with other GD rituals (e.g. LIRP, LBRP, LBRH, SIRP, etc). I really never vibed with any of the rituals and for me, the middle pillar did basically nothing for me. I feel a bit more affinity to LBRP, which is why I keep it in my tool kit, but the MP felt more like a visualisation exercise.

I got a lot more success with the IIH pore breathing exercises in my experience. But honestly to each their own.

Well, that's what happens when someone puts online several of the Golden Dawn rituals and they get copied over and over with no explanation of the preparation.

Eg for MPR to work, you have to first understand the tree of life and create its imprint on your body of light, which means you have to develop the body of light first 😂

Not really, I learned it from both Modern Magick and the Israel Regardie book. Those seem to be pretty legitimate sources for this. And honestly it is less about understanding things or developing the body of light, if you don't vibe with it, it won't work for you. Internal resistance is a real thing and truthfully, I don't feel like forcing it to work when I found practices that do work for me.

Which kind of goes back to my original point of "to each their own". I am sure that online versions of this are flawed, but even with proper explanations, you will find people not really able to get it to work.

Then in Regardie's book you should remember there's a mention of laying down and focus on each sephira in your body for several minutes while vibrating the name associated with it

Again done it, didn't really do much for me. I'm not sure why you seem so intent on trying to convince me that it works specifically for me if it doesn't. I'm sure it works amazingly for other people, including you, but it does not have to be the case for everyone.

Oh, don't take me wrong, I am not saying you are doing anything wrong, but simply picking a single exercise from a full system without working with the system won't do anything. That doesn't mean you should use the system if it isn't for you.

But that's the thing, a lot of assumptions are made there. I didn't just pick a small part of the system, my original post said that I worked multiple rituals from the GD system. I actually started with GD and gave it an honest go, but it never really vibed. That being said, yes you are right, if it doesn't work, then it doesn't work.

One aspect of the Middle Pillar exercise is that it can activate, strengthen and circulate inner energy (qi in Chinese Traditional Medicine) so it can be seen as a form of neigong.

Being sleepy after beginning qi circulation practice is common. It is a form of healing.

I have most experience with it in a group setting, and the first time I experienced it also felt the most extreme, like energy landing heavily on my head and then pushing down to my feet (at that time I was mostly experiencing what the group was doing, and I didn't know any of the visualisations etc yet) it felt both energising and grounding/centering at the same time, like becoming a conduit.

If you do it alone without a group, any preparation or framework to work in, I don't think you will get a similar effect, but then again I can't go back and try that route lol I don't know anything about you as a person, your beliefs, methods and such, so that makes it very difficult to say anything about it
