I would recommend learning some form of divination-- I think it's a pretty good way to communicate with spirits, deities, etc (if that's something you're interested in). I especially like tarot for that purpose, though you may not be in a position to acquire (or make) a deck. Scrying is also quite good, and has a lower barrier of entry; the only thing you really need is a dark bowl with water in it (or a still body of water).

Take this with a grain of salt; I started out with tarot before diving deeper into the occult, so I'm a bit biased towards it. Additionally, what you learn should really be dictated by your interests.

The path is long; you can start learning to create your own sigils for your own goals and purposes as an example. Here's a simple guide: Book – PDF - Hidden in Plain Sight: The Art and Creation of Sigils (High Magick Studies) by David Thompson

Here's another one, from page 71 to 101:Book – PDF - David Thompson - High Magick 101: A Beginner's Guide to High Magick

Sigils are just a big part of a bigger equation; I also recommend learning divination like she said, evocation, and soul traveling.

I would suggest meditation. Self mastery will serve you well going forward.

A form of divination can be very helpful obviously. If you can’t buy a tarot deck (or even if you can) I would suggest a deck of playing cards (I prefer two decks shuffled together), or geomancy (pencil and paper).

Not sure what method/sigils you are referring to. Other next steps to consider, servitors (chaos magic) or pentacles (gkos) or a ton of other possibilities.

Absolutely.

My suggestion is to pick something you are interested in & use it as a jumping-off point to explore related topics, and see which one's you wish to integrate into your own practices, for example:

If you're interested in tarot, get a basic deck, explore the correspondences, explore the links to Kabala (however you chose to spell it) & other uses of Kabala, compare it to other decks, explore the history & practices of groups that used/originated the decks you like, explore other divination tools (runes for example) & their associated traditions.
