It kind of depends on what you mean when you say 'divination.'

Do you primarily mean a conversational interface that facilitates communication with an entity? Here, I have found a (consecrated and dedicated-to-the-spirit-in-question) pendulum to work the best, despite my cognitive aversion to pendulums in general.

Or do you mean divination as a diagnostic/predictive tool? Here, I always end up coming back to cartomancy (Tarot, Lenormand), but I truly want to get proficient in Geomancy and Horary Astrology.

Tarot works very well—more for resolving doubts than for predicting things. This applies, of course, when using the full set of arcana.

I think if your serious long term, you want to find the symbol system that chooses you, speaks to you. Whether it’s cards or something else even digital after that matters less. All the insanely good tarot readers I’ve meet made their own unpublished decks, depicting entities as art that chose them through life, which I didn’t know, but there readings were scary good. For me I choose numbers, but that’s from a personal relationship where they have colors, shapes, meanings, and introduced themselves to me before I invoked them. So I can do readings by generating a large number, but the magic is in the meanings to the reader and relationships with entities they map to, not the format.
