[Opinion] Why is so important to initiate with the tarot deck you using?

I am just asking the results and importance of this practice.

Tarot much like people, start with conversation. In my experience with all kinds of cards its best to feel them out before you actually use them, much in the same way that you would with people. You wouldn't ask a random person whose name just so happens to start with the letter A to help you with a break up, nor should you use a deck you virtually have no understanding of to accomplish the same goal. Sometimes a particular card is what throws a wrench in the working due to the deck's art not meshing with your mental state at that time. Other times your bestest friend is so preoccupied with their life that they simply just can't help you.

Initiating with the deck not only helps you understand their story but in turn, helps you see things in a clear yet distinctly different light! You don't have to do it but it certainly helps.

I had totally forgot until I read your reply that when I was knee high to a grasshopper, I'd stay with my Great Grandma and her friends would come over after church for pie or cookies, coffee, and so she could give them their remedies and to use her playing cards for divination. Thank you for reminding me of that. Happy memories. Haha

Yeah its kinda crazy how such a versatile packet got picked up by cardist/street magicians and white washed it in a way. That being said ive learned that aparently a lot of modern performances indirectly use lenormand's system as a base which is really cool to read about

I'm into card tricks, and I think I have a connection with a regular deck of cards, because when I do card tricks, I regularly get the same card. Dozens of times a day. On any deck of cards. Mathematically, this is simply impossible. I always take a drop-down card as a warning about the future.
