I was wondering why I see so much posts about win 10, Linux and Win 11. Win 11 is a security disaster. Specifically, it encrypt your HDD and if you screw up, you will never get your data out. ID of your device is stored in your Win account and accessible to many. AI will be screenshotting your screen for learning about you. (how anyone thinks that doing banking is safe under Ai screening it?) Win 10 will no longer get security updates...

Looks like win 10 will indeed be the last Windows...

You can get the extended updates thing. Gives another year. I just recently extended it on a toaster laptop, said +1 year. Doesn't cost anything, although it first says 1000 Microsoft points or 29,99$, there's some free third option.

Shockingly strange yes, taking images of everything. The AI takeover.

Yeah, AI disgusts me greatly. It is impressive thing, but the mount of energy and processing power it needs is so insanely high, that in no time AI industry will be the biggest source of pollution in the world.

Some people still use even Win XP. If some OS no longer gets official support it doesn't mean that it suddenly stops working. Security updates were meaningful only up to the very start of WinXP era. Later updates are very dubious and I suspect those "updates" actually be just another form of telemetry.

Just to note, I never ever used Google Play on my smartphone with it, and all auto-updates were turned off. Lately I had to use VPNs, so I had to watch the bandwidth, and oh my... Google Play devours bandwidth like mad... I had to totally block that application. Also on my old laptop (with Win10) I noticed that once internet connection is off, laptop works several times faster.

These big greedy companies like Google and Microsoft are certainly up to no good.

Thankfully, there are some pirates who make "clean" versions of newer Windows OS. Of course there is always risk to get some malware with it, but at least you will surely not get official malware from Microsoft. So that's another alternative in case someone doesn't want to go to Linux.
