I love that series!

Fantasy:
Brandon Sanderson - He's a pretty classic author of course but I've been reading a lot of him lately.
Tamora Pierce - Her stuff is for a younger audience but I devoured them as a 10 year old!
Hannah Whitten - The Nightshade Crown Trilogy- I've not finished it bc my library didn't stock the last book but so far I like it
Ben Aaronovitch - Rivers of London Series - A good romp with magical cops
Erin Morgenstern - The author of my nominal favorite book, The Night Circus, but I like The Starless Sea too!

Hmm not really familiar with any of these fantasy authors. More books for me to check out! :)

Sci-fi
Andy Weir - The Martian - Read this recently and had a good time.
Michael Crichton - Another classic author! I think I read Congo and Sphere.
Mary Shelley - Frankenstein - I love this book so much, I've read it two or three times.

Big fan of Sphere. Great film as well, imo.

The Legend of Drizzt by RA Salvadore and The Wheel of Time series, (forgot the authors name" Umm A song of Ice and Fire series by George RR Martin, They are a few less popular ones i am forgetting off the top of my head but those are all rally good. especially Drizzt, There was another series for young adults i forget the name but it had to do with some kids being transported to other times and dealing with old Gods, like the time of the aztects and such and one kid had a sdpecial pocket knife that could cut through anything. Eragon is decent as well

hmm the name Drizzt rings a bell, but not read it. Definitely had it recommended before. I must add this to the list :)

Was it Everworld by K. A. Applegate (1999–2001)?

That's the one!! haha, man I haven't read that in so long. there are quite a few books in the series if i remember correctly. I was surprised how much I liked them considering it's for a younger audience and I was in my mid-teens.

And Yeah I highly recommend The Legend of Drizzt, it's about a Dark Elf and the dark elves live in a Matriarchal society, it's definitely worth the read. the author almost has a poetic Esque way of writing certain parts, it really emphasizes the atmosphere in a way that draws you in.

And yeah "Wheel of Time" was written by Robert Jordan except the last book, he died before it was finished so it was finished by his co-writer that helped with the others or something akin to that.
